Tour Itinerary
Departing Cusco at 5:00 AM, we head through the high Andean plateau toward Paucartambo and the mysterious pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarca. At Acjanaco pass (3,800 m), we witness where the Andean cordillera abruptly drops into the Amazonian cloud forest. As we descend into the San Pedro cloud forest, we stop at the famous lek of the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruvianus) to observe up to 20 flamboyant males performing courtship displays. In the evening, we reach Pilcopata for dinner and rest.
